About our School

We are a community school in the Lind-Bohanon-Camden neighborhood. We offer a variety of programs including: AM Pre-K, five all-day Kindergarten classrooms, English as a Second Language (ESL), Hmong Native Language Literacy, Gifted and Talented/Catalyst, Special Education, Media/Technology, and Area Learning Center (ALC)/Community Education After-School Programs.

Jenny Lind serves as a citywide program site for approximately 25 students with autism. These children receive specialized services but are also mainstreamed. Jenny Lind has three state-of-the art computer labs. Students have the opportunity to use Success Maker math, Renaissance Learning's Reading and Math programs and Yearly Progress Pro which monitors students weekly and indicates to teachers what areas need re-teaching. Students take specialist classes in music, art, technology and physical education. We also have an innovative piano keyboarding lab. This year our first grade students also have weekly strings instruction.

Our Mission:

Celebrating a student body that is academically and culturally diverse, we at Jenny Lind, in partnership with home and community, strive for excellence as we inspire all students to reach their full potential as lifelong learners.

Jenny Lind Vision:

Curriculum/Academic Curriculum is taught and learned in a manner that accommodates all Jenny Lind students. Students are actively involved in developmentally appropriate activities, feel good about their heritage, accept their strengths and weaknesses and are responsible for their own behavior.
