Welcome to Kindergarten Room101!  

The kindergarten year is an exciting and special time for both you and your child.  Students will change and grow so much in this year - you will not believe it!  

My job as a kindergarten teacher is to help your child develop a love of learning that will help to shape a lifetime of academic achievement. Our daily schedule will include lessons in : reading, writing,language, math, science,social studies and more.  They will attend a specialist class each day.  

This fall we will have gym on Mondays- please wear gym shoes.  Art on Tuesdays, Technology on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and  Music on Fridays.  Students will learn to read, write and count through hard work,song and dance.  We will have literacy and math centers. I will teach academic as well as social learning.

I will use a Responsive Classroom approach to build a sense of community within our classroom.  We will learn to express our thoughts and ideas in a kind and meaningful way.  We will learn how to share materials in the classroom.  We will learn to work together sharing, taking turns, giving and accepting help, and following directions.These are basic school skills which students will need throughout their lives.  I look forward to an exciting and productive year of learning!   Please know that you are welcome to visit the classroom .
