Welcome!!!

Welcome to Room 236!!!!!

We are so excited to be back for another school year, many exciting learning opportunities, and watching your child grow over the school year. I will provide your student with one – one inch binder to keep school work in for the school year. This is a good way to teach organizational skills, especially since some of our students will be entering middle school soon. The expectation is that they will keep this binder in good condition over the school year. If they need a new one for some reason, I may not be able to provide one. I will also provide your student with small whiteboards for writing activities in the classroom.

In the morning, your child will be greeted at the bus by Lind staff, eat breakfast, and go his/ her general education classroom for the morning meeting. Once this is over, they will come to Room 236 for reading, writing, and math instruction. Students will attend lunch, recess, and specialist classes with grade level peers at various times throughout their school day. Students will participate in special activities in their general education classroom, science, and social studies to the extent possible based on student need.

Ways to Help Your Child at Home

1. Please encourage your child to read at home 30 minutes every night.

2. Encourage your child to complete his/her homework Monday through Thursday.  Homework should be a review of skills.  If you are finding it is extremely frustrating, please contact me.

3. Your child can go to the Jenny Lind website - jennylind.mpls.k12.mn.us - and go to the All Star Student section.  They can go to safe, child appropriate website to play fun, challenging games to practice various skills.

Thank you for all your support!
