Let me introduce myself...

Hello!

My name is Andrea Stolhanske.  I am very excited to be back working at Jenny Lind!  I will be supporting the second and third grade teams in literacy this year.

This will be my twentieth year teaching.  I began my career with District 287 as a lead teacher in a special education classroom with 7th and 8th grade students.  A year later, I joined the Minneapolis Public Schools, where I have taught first, third, fourth, seventh and eighth grade special education, along with a year as the No Child Left Behind lead teacher, where I was  liaison between the school and the Sylvan Learning Center, which provided our students with supplemental services after school.  I have worked mainly on the north side of Minneapolis, with the exception of two years on the south side.  In addition to teaching, I spent two years prior to coming back to Jenny Lind as a PAR (Peer Assistance and Review) Mentor, working along side and supporting teachers that were in their first three years of teaching or had taught previously, but were new to the MPLS district.

In my spare time I love spending time with my family and my dog, Nahla.  I also enjoy finding quiet little coffee shops for a daily fresh brew and reality television.

I look forward to a fantastic year with students, families and an amazing dedicated and caring staff!  Please feel free to contact me at astolhan@mpls.k12.mn.us at any time.
