The Arrington Family

Greetings Jenny Lind Families!!!

It is such an honor to be a part of the Jenny Lind community for the 2016-2017 school year.

I have lived in Minnesota for 3 years now and can proudly say that my husband and I have made Minneapolis our forever home. I grew up in Iowa, spent a few years in Chicago after college before heading back to Iowa, and ultimately ended here in Minnepolis. I am lucky to have my in-laws living in Chicago, so we get to go back to see them and a city that we love. I received my Bachelors of Social Work from Luther College and my Masters of Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago.  I have been doing social work with families and children for 8 years. I have been lucky enough to serve families both as a therapist in and out of schools, as well as a school social worker. This is my 3rd year with Minneapolis Public Schools. Before coming to Jenny Lind I worked at the Wilder building with students in mental health day treatment programs. I am looking forward to learning how I can best support the students and families at Jenny Lind. I am able to work closely with your student and teacher to better understand what stresses your child and family may be experiencing and how those stresses may impact your student at school. It is my priority to do what I can to support your student so that they are able to learn to their full potential.

I am a part of a strong social work team here at Jenny Lind. Christine Shamp works with the H5-2nd grade students and Nick Cross works with grades 3-5. Together with Christine and Nick, we hope to make school a safe, and happy place for your student and your family.

I look forward to meeting you and your student!
