Vaccine Clinic at Lind
Dear Jenny Lind Community,
There will be a free vaccination clinic for 5- to 11-year old Jenny Lind students at our school on Thursday, Nov. 18 from 3 - 6 p.m. Medical professionals will be administering the two-dose pediatric Pfizer vaccine at no cost. Appointments can be made online. A parent or guardian must accompany their child through the vaccination process.
If families would like to secure a vaccine for their child earlier than next week, additional vaccine clinics for children and teens can be located using this tool: mn.gov/covid19/vaccine/vaxforkids/
This clinic is the result of a partnership between Minneapolis Public Schools and the City of Minneapolis Health Department following the CDC’s approval of the Pfizer pediatric COVID-19 vaccine. In its review, the federal government found the Pfizer vaccine is safe for children. It has been carefully studied in children ages 5-11 years, just like it was for people 12 and older.
Not only is the COVID-19 vaccine safe for children, but it is also highly effective at preventing severe illness. The vaccine will help protect students from COVID-19, and it will help them stay safe during school, sports and other social activities.
If you have questions about vaccines, your pediatrician or family physician can be an excellent source of information. You can also learn more from the Minnesota Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Getting the safe, free, and effective shot is vital to protecting our kids and slowing the spread of COVID-19. Thank you for taking action to protect your family and our school community.
