My Family minus our dog!

I’m excited to be starting my 6th year as a School Social Worker at Jenny Lind. This will be my 12th school year in the district.  I started as an Americorps*VISTA in 2008 at Sanford Middle School.  I served at Sanford in a variety of roles that exposed me to various parts of the a school from teaching classes, planning field trips and lots of paperwork!

I’m excited to be at Jenny Lind and continue to the great work that is happening here. My family and I are proud to call the Northside home! It is fun to run into students and families at community events and programs.

I got my Bachelors of Social Work from Taylor University and my Masters of Social Work from Monmouth University.  My Masters is focused on International & Community Development.  During my Masters I did an internship in the country of Ghana.  I feel like the focus on Community Development and systems work helps me navigate the school district and community resources.

I am very excited to be working with our staff and students.  I support all students, but work primarily with Grades 2 & 5. We have many wonderful adults and lots of wonderful students. I wear many different hats throughout the day and work with a lot of students and families.  Please feel free to call me if you have any questions about school, attendance, or ways we can support your child and you.

I tell the students that I:

  • listen to students,
  • listen to staff,
  • listen to parents/guardians,
  • care about students,
  • support students,
  • support staff,
  • support parents/guardians,
  • advocate for students, and
  • connect!

I look forward to meeting with you this year!
